Acai Miracles

I feel like every time I write these emails, I start out with the fact that this week was crazy. Here we go again. This week was craaazy.

1 transfer in and I can officially say I've been robbed, had many weird middle aged men experiences, and many incredible spiritual experiences too

highlights :)
- After marketing our English course to the local high school we had 12 people show up!! (May not sound like a lot, but trust me it is)

- We had a family home evening night with the Sisters in the neighboring area and a family from their ward and it ended with karaoking to the church youth songs while eating brigadeiros. So ya, pretty fire.

- I already knew this, but this week confirmed that Sydney, a white shirt, and a chocolate filled churro may taste very good, but will always end up quite messy.

- The weather in Salvador is either blasting sun, a light drizzle of rain, or a light drizzle of rain that within seconds turns into the heavens opening up and absolutely dumping. And we are very bad at predicting what the day will be. So of course the days we logic ourselves out of bringing an umbrella are the days we always and up absolutely drenched (pictured below).

- Don't read this part grandma. Yep. We got robbed this week. We were walking to the church on Wednesday night at 6 pm. It was dark. We were almost to the church when we get a message from Sister Martins (president's wife) to the whole mission. We decided to get our phone out to listen to her message. Sister Sousa holds the phone up to our ears to listen to the recording as we walk. The church is literally 30 seconds away. Sister Martins starts talking about "please be careful, don't use your phone on the street...". And a young man out of nowhere snatches the phone out of Sousa's hand and takes off running. We froze for a second out of shock, then ran into the church. We're totally fine and of course I find this hilarious. Because of course listening to this particular audio message our phone gets stolen. And I can only imagine this 20 year old man running, listening to this message. And then when he gets far enough away he will realize that basically every app is blocked on the phone except gospel library.

- MIRACLESSSSS!! Tuesday afternoon, we decided to take a little break at the açaí shop. The same one that we got the owner's contact the first week I arrived. While we were eating, the owner's adult children started talking with us - Leandro and their daughter-in-law, Gabriela. We were talking and eventually the conversation turned to Jesus and God and they had so many questions. We sat in the açaí shop talking for 1.5 hours and ended up giving them 2 lessons. We walked out of there singing Prince of Egypt's 'There will be Miracles'. We've been meeting with them basically everyday since! They need all the prayers they can get, but they are a miracle!

life is good :)
love you all (even if the whole frazier fam is at the beach without me)
