"I Love It"

Image
This week was full of miracles!! Here's just a few!  highlights: - fieldtrip to the airport this week to get sister vergara a new ID! Felt very strange being in the airport, but we got to get pizza which was a win!  - watching the stars out of the window of the carro pequeno driving home from Mata - fieldtrip pt. 2! Churrasco with president after interviews! Woot woot!  - listening to the irmãs tell their novela of a love life - one time this week out of nowhere instead of accidently speaking English, I accidently spoke Spanish. No idea how that happened. Maybe I've been with companheiras latinas for too long - Our friend Hosanildon got baptized this week! He's a cute old man with a wild backstory, but despite him being scared for his baptism, it went really well!  - our Sunday worked out that somehow we took the sacrament 3 times lol. During our normal ward, the other ward's meeting after (bc our investigator showed up late), and again at our tarde familiar i...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! (I am indeed making a pie today grammy, you should be proud ;) highlights!  - taught my comp quite possibly the most important word in English: "field trip!" (More updates on that next week) - ate chicken foot for the first time - one morning, during my morning routine, I grabbed some couscous and eggs to eat, and while eating I had the weirdest sensation of "what the heck am I doing? eating couscous and eggs like it's normal?" I guess I'm becoming more Bahian than I thought. - we came home from a really hard day, and Sister Bueno had homemade CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES waiting for us. I just about cried. - Had a fun time starting a noite de integração with the ward! The ward is getting to know my competitive side more and more (idk if that's a good thing or not) - The work in Dias D'Ávila and Mata is going so good! We were able to put 4 of our friends on date this week! They've all got their obstacles, but with prayers it will ...

The Talking Donkey

BOM DIA GENTE!! highlights:  - somehow hit 6 months in the mish?! Wildness - We were on the phone with a media reference and she was asking us so many questions. It was about missionary work and the church, and then out of nowhere she started talking about that one story in the Bible with the talking donkey. Let's just say that somehow I remembered the one time my dad mentioned that story in some come follow me lesson who knows when and was able to make a few comments on it. The holy ghost really does bringing things back to memory, things that were buried way deep in there. - the town has officially started decorating for Christmas!! This crazy town is about to get crazier - power got fixed! Hallelujah! Never slept better than that first night back with a fan - we had some great lessons and some great activities with the ward!! - tarde familiar in Mata!! (aka my favorite time of the week) It is always so special. This week we had about 19 people show up, which included members, in...

Cade a luz?

3rd edition of sydney week in quotes. You're welcome :) - "vou destickyar" (I'm going to destickize myself): all of us, every night - "Jesus Christ better be coming back soon because this is our 3rd day of darkness" (we lost energy last Tuesday. We told the elder in charge of the houses that night and in true Brazil fashion, Wednesday was too soon to fix it, oh shoot Thursday's a holiday, and woops its the weekend already, so here we are 1 week later, still sem luz (and fans rippy rip)) (but on the plus side got to bring out the headlamp) - "ooo que fofinho" (ooo how cute): my comp every time she sees a cat (about every 10 yards) (but we love her for it) - "max, can you open up the window for the pizza?" We started out the week by buying an absolutely massive pizza for sister Bueno's birthday, which only fit through the window. - Our area has a ton of inactive members. Like I think we run into at least 1 person everyday who says...
