Feliz Natal

This week had so many miracles that there were too many possible titles for this email, so buckle up highlights - on Wednesday this week it absolutely poured, like dumped dogs and cats after lunch. Us sisteres left lunch, had exactly 1 umbrella for the 4 of us, and said "screw it, yolo" (in português of course). And had the most live in the moment memory getting absolutely drenched, dancing and singing and jumping in the puddles as the roads turned into absolute rivers while we walked to our appointments. - on another note BEYONCE WAS LITERALLY HERE. LIKE IN SALVADOR BAHIA. like I was probably the closest I've ever been to her in my entire life. Like we were freaking out. Like the bahia was freaking out. - on a more spiritual note, here's 2 cool stories from the week because we had some amazing miracles :) - 1. Josiane. Josiane was invited a few weeks ago by her member friend that lives in ITALY to go to our church. So out of nowhere on a Sunday morning, she walked to...

Another week in the Bahia, another set of epic highlights to bless your lives highlights - our mission Christmas conference included but was not limited to: live nativity with sister Martins as Mary, Elder Rodrigues as baby Jesus, and the sisters all dressed in red as angels. So many "only this mission" moments - one of the members here served with my uncle!? back when dinosaurs walked the earth of course - when taking our uber back to our area after mission Christmas, the uber driver asked us about the castle looking thing right next to the highway (aka the temple). We told him all about it, and when we passed it on the way back he asked "you guys want me to drive up close?" Us: "abso-freaking-lutely". He then proceeded to drive right up close to the temple at snail pace so we could all gauck and take pictures like the tourists we are. Thank you uber driver. - this week was full of trying to get to know people, getting lost, trying to get to know people...

tchau tchau

BOM DIA I got transferred folks. Tchau tchau to my beautiful towns of Dias D'Ávila and Mata de São João. I have grown to love love love this place and these people. Yesterday was full of some sad goodbyes and yes a few tears. But I'm excited for the adventure ahead in Lauro de Freitas with Sister Cassiano!  - my new comp is from Rio! Every time I switch comps the accent and language of my new comp takes a few days to get used to. And Sister Cassiano's accent is thiiiick. So this is gonna be interesting - my friend Lionel got baptized on Sunday!! Here's his story: his parents got baptized about 7 years ago in a different city, but when they moved to Mata, they became inactive. One day when I was with sister Elescano trying to find a carro pequeno, his mom, Elaine, came up to us and told us she was a member. We got her number but after a few messages, she stopped responding to us. One day a few weeks later we decided to try to find her house. We knew more or less where ...

Why did you stop?

highlights from the life of a bahaiana:  - we had a lesson this week with Lionel and his whole family! It was so so so awesome! We used the friend magazine and talked about Christmas! It is hands down one of my favorite lessons I have taught so far!  - this week for some reason was full of Bible bashes, angry phone calls from angry girlfriends, and ex-mormon videos, which made it a wee bit hard, but also provided some funny memories. Ex: us: "hang up hang up hang up, faster faster faster" - we also had exchanges this week with sister Johnson and b Sousa! Which meant pizza nights!! - Yesterday we visited a cute little old couple who have the sweetest testimonies. They unfortunately can't come to church bc they're so old, but they are adorable. While there, we asked to sing a hymn with them, and the wife chose "Nearer my God to thee". We sang the 3 verses and when we stopped singing, the cute little old grandma goes "why did you stop? There's 2 more...
