A Good Cause

Image
Hello my loves!! Highlights:  - When we showed up to Larissa's house, she opened up her Book of Mormon to 3 Nefi 11 and it was all marked up, full of underlines, hearts, question marks, and stars. Happiness is seeing people love the Book of Mormon. - Had Gabriel's baptism last Sunday!!  - Then this Sunday we ate the cake of the baptism that fell through as we planned our week. Ups and downs for sure. - got rained on so hard and of course we forgot our umbrellas. But just mais chuva na plaqueta, né. Also my comp used a sweater because she thought it was cold and now I will never let her live it down. - had to hide in our investigators house while he killed a massive rat that was blocking the way out - and my comp and I received the news that we're staying in Brotas for 6 more weeks!! Woot woot!! We are so pumped to see all the miracles God has waiting for us! D&C 58:27-28 "Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own...

The Why

Imagine this: it's 5:50 pm. We have 10 minutes left of pday. We walk into our apartment with hands fully of groceries. We get on our phones to send some last minute messages and all of the sudden, I hear screams from sister Campos.  Campos: "We have a date! We have a date!"  Me: "o que?" Campos: "O TEMPLO" Me: "O QUE?!?!"  Campos: "babababa OCTOBER 20TH" both of us: unstoppable screams and jumping With 5 minutes left of pday I called the mom (obviously) Me: "Mom we've got a date!" *starts crying uncontrollably* "October 20th. The temple is gonna be dedicated on October 20th" Suddenly all of the hard days, rejections, and tears seemed worth it. Everything made sense. My "why" on the mission came back so strong. I am so excited to help people access the blessings of the temple and eternal families. So that was the set up for nossa semana abençoada!! Highlights!   - made the 11 year old boys in the war...

12 months,  365 days,  Countless laughs, cries, memories, moments, and experiences.  To celebrate, here's 12 things that I've learned in the 12 hardest, most epic, and most fulfilling months of my life. - beans are actually good when cooked by a bahian - it's impossible to put on sunscreen while you are actively sweating - pizza, açai, or yolito is the best way to celebrate anything and everything - when you don't know what to do, just do it. There is no wrong way to do the right. - God created us to have JOY! And because of Christ, we can feel joy despite our situations - God always has a plan. Like always. And everything He does has a purpose. - The holy ghost really does know best - The book of Mormon is soooo good. For sure my favorite book. - God loves all of our tiny little efforts and multiplies them into so much more. He can do with them what we can't. - Faith in Jesus Cristo is soooo powerful. Our thoughts and actions have an effect way bigger than we can i...
