Smile and Wave

HOLY CRAP SHE'S ACTUALLY IN SALVADOR This week has been craaazzzyyy, let me tell ya. I'm currently living in an apartment with 5 sisters, and we have 1 phone, so not too much time, but I'll tell you the good stuff - HIGHLIGHTSSSSS So the church really just decided to throw a curve ball and change it all up over here. 1) new preach my gospel - updated on our literal last day at the ctm, so we've got to learn it all again. 2) the day I arrived in my mission, I learned that it is no longer Salvador south, but now just Salvador. Ill send a pic of the new boundaries, but just know that it changed a lot, like a lot. Which means that the past 4 days have been crazy with missionaries getting reassigned and all. However, this means that the Salvador temple which should be done in about a year will be in my mission which is exciting!! My area!!! I'm currently serving in Parque da Cidade! Its an area right in the city on the coast and the chapel is right on the beach hehe. I...

Bye Bye CTM

LAST WEEK IN THE CTM!?!? Next time you here from me, I'll officially be in Salvador (or somewhere around there) I have LOVED my time in the CTM. Would not change it for the world. However, liberdade is also sounding pretty nice. Plenty of highlights, but our p-day is approximately 30 seconds today, so ya - a couple byu friends came to the ctm this week! It was soo awesome to see them!! - Irmão Zarza told us his favorite movie was guardians of the galaxy. And when sister Johnson asked how they say "I am groot" he may or may not have pulled up the trailer on youtube so we could experience "Eu sou grootche" in a super high pitched voice. We were dying of laughter. - we had our last temple trip! Both of our instructors got to come with us, which was really cool. They have been such a blessing to me at the ctm. We laugh our heads off with Irmão Zarza, and Irmã lisbôa quite literally wipes away our tears. Forever thankful for both of them!! - one tender mercy this w...

International Avocado

Image
CTM schedule = eat, study, class, eat, class, eat, study, run, eat (pretty banger if you ask me) HIGHLIGHTS!! - During our hour of freedom last week we bought some fruit and an absolutely massive avocado. Because we are officially Brasileiras, we decided that we needed to eat said massive avocado the Brazilian way, which includes a little sugar and powdered milk (i know I know, I doubted too). However, the only time we have access to a knife to cut said avocado is during our dinner time in the cafeteria. So we brought this massive avocado into the cafeteria and made our little concoction. Let me tell you, it was soooo good. Like wow. We also got plenty of stares as other missionaries tried to figure out where in the heck we got an avocado from. Some elders gawked at our avocado through the windows and tried to talk to us with large hand motions and speaking slowly, but reading lips in a different language turned out to be quite hard. They ended up bringing out the google translate and ...

Kill the English

I think the best way to sum up this week is through some stellar quotes (which honestly probably won't make a lot of sense to you guys but just know that I laughed really hard, like really hard, so feel free to laugh along) (also about 98% of these are Irmão Zarza originals, our bomb diggity religion teacher who is the only person who speaks in English to us, although Portuguese is his first language) - zarza: "can you steal God?" us trying to clarify: "can we steal from God?" Zarza: "no, can you steal God?" sister harden: "we can steal His heart"  - "no need to sing about this one" - "you laugh like those people who are pigs." (I was laughing...) - "i don't want you to repeat what I did, but i know it's hard. I am amazing" - while telling us about his mission in South Africa "the mission president said, 'let's put the 2 Brazilians together, see what happens.' I got hit by a car." - ...
