Crazy and hard week (how they usually are) Highlights:  - this week we tried to find a girl that the previous sisters were teaching. We knew where her house was, but we didn't know her name. So we clapped a little, and then as a joke decided to yell "Maria", because how can you go wrong with the name Maria? Long story short, her name was indeed maria. - we went bowling for Zone pday last week! (My bowling skills have not improved in case you were wondering) - something that sometimes I laugh about and sometimes I get frustrated about here in the Bahia is how many freaking churches there are here. Here are some of my favorites that I've passed by: quadrangular church, revolution of grace church, and my personal favorite, the church about knees. (I wish I were joking) - transfers are today! I'll be staying in Lauro de Freitas with a new comp.... Sister Garcia! A cute little Guatemalan. (Also idk what God's trying to say, but ALL of my companions in the field hav...

bom diaaaaa highlights from the  sydney  week: - I participated in my first ward council meeting this week. It was quite the experience of basically spending 90 minutes arguing over who's gonna bring the feijão and spaghetti to the ward lunch. - Interviews with president this week might have been one of my favorite moments on the mish so far. It went something like this: pres: "Ok sister max I have 1 more favor to ask of you" me: "let's hear it" pres: *pulls out his palmeiras credit card* "you know that mercadinho across the street? Go buy 6 redbulls" me: "tá certo pres" - the best part of the week was hands down Vinícius and Pedro's baptism!! It was literally the best thing asking Pedro why baptism was important and he goes "it connects us to God". Literally just about melted. - I studied a great talk this week called "A Summer with Great Aunt Rose" by Elder Utchdorf. And in the story he tells, great aunt rose quo...

Some moments that made me happy (aka highlights) - inviting literally everyone on the bus to English class - playing leap frog in the middle of the road - Joseane has started studying the scriptures with her family everyday!! (The elders quorum president explained to her what fhe was and she looks at me, and I go "ya she's already doing that") - had a lesson with a woman Sunday morning at literally 8h30 am and convinced her to come to church with us - This week Joseane watched a ex-mormon video that left her feeling very anxious,  doubtful, and with a lot of questions. Honestly I didn't know exactly how to answer a lot of her questions. But we invited her to pray and the next day brought in the relief society president to help us answer her questions. She felt a lot more at peace, and left with a strengthened testimony. It made me think of our purpose here as missionaries. It isn't to always take away people's doubts but to teach them how to find answers to ...

Jesus vem, e aí

S ydney   week in quotes part 4 :) - "oh glória": Us every time anything good happens -  "let's go to the beach beach, let's go hit a wave": Us on Christmas. First time ever celebrating Christmas in 98 degree weather watching the waves. Pretty epic if I do say so - "Jesus vem, e aí?" (Jesus is coming, what are you doing?) Signs that we see hung up in the trees. This is literally the most crente country ever. - "we're gonna eat popcorn and turn on the happy vibes": me after a hard day  - me: "EDI!!" I saw edi!! My first day in the mission field I stayed in this area and participated in the baptism of edi. And this week, after 6 months, I saw him again and he totally remembered me - sister Martinez: "a americana mais bahiana que conheci" (the most bahian American I've ever met), I don't know exactly what that means, but I'll take it as a compliment - Vinícius: "that's your last coffee right ther...
