Peanut Butter

I'm bringing back the 'week summed up in quotes' email. Because that's just how this week was. So as always, sit back and enjoy (and laugh along with me even though 90% of these won't make any sense to you)

- "sai max!" (Leave max!) - turns out the dog's name was max too
- a photography class asked to take a picture of us. Us: "umm sure". Them: "ok, now look off into the distance". Me: trying so so hard not to laugh.
- me and sister elescano at the same time: "AAHHHHHHHH"(rato in the house)
- sister bueno: *a certain 4 letter word* (but we'll give her a break because she doesn't speak English)
- learning about how another religion receives the holy ghost: blows a kiss, "take the spirit, take the spirit"
- "bate palmas acima por Jesus" (clap your hands above your head for Jesus) (apparently any lower and it's for the devil)
- "que cute" (one of the few English words the sisters know)
- asking president for permission to go into a mall: president: "ok", then sends a gif of his own face
- "ela não bate muito bem não" (she's a little coo coo in the brain) (these sisters are teaching me very important Portuguese phrases)
- "cala boca turisticas!" (Shut up tourists) (At a relief society activity getting shown around the church building pretending to be tourists - apparently, we were talking too much)
- "Is this a Brazilian thing or a Bahian thing?" (At the same literally psycho RS activity) (it included a spiritual thought on ministering, all the middle aged women playing hide and go seek, but the seeker was a blind woman, finding the wrong Monica (because the seeker was blind), and it ended as we were leaving with all the women holding water balloons - who slipped something into their food?)
- I FOUND PEANUT BUTTER (not a quote, but definitely a highlight)

- and now for a spiritual thought :) We had a member lunch one day in a family's home that was way far away. Like a 30-minute uber drive on dirt roads (our driver was not happy with us haha). And after the lunch we went with the mom to do some visits to her neighbors. And I was feeling a little frustrated spending this time working in an area that seems like it would have little results because it was so far from the church, with no transportation besides walking. (Even the family we ate lunch with had become inactive due to the distance). But as we were eating lunch, I had the thought "I can't change where I am. What would Jesus do?" And it hit me again (I think I have the same cycle every week). He would love these people and invite them to church anyways. I'm learning to ask in any situation "what would Jesus do?", and whatever that is is the best thing to do.

3 Nefi 11: 11 "And behold, I am the light and the life of the world; and I have drunk out of that bitter cup which the Father hath given me, and have glorified the Father in taking upon me the sins of the world, in the which I have suffered the will of the Father in all things from the beginning." Jesus is our guiding light:)

life is good :)
love you all
