Good Cheer

welcome back to another week in the Bahia full of miracles, adventures, and só coisas boas

highlights

- our ward had a RS activity that involved a little zumba on Saturday. And although we aren't allowed to dance, I decided zumba and dancing aren't the same thing, and brought back all my knowledge and skills from my byu zumba class. I got many "olha! A americana está fazendo zumba!" (Look! The American's doing zumba!)

- the bishop's wife was trying to convince us for a solid 30 minutes at lunch that Zac efron was not only a member of the church, but also served his mission in the Bahia. Unfortunately for her, Google told us that Zac "was too busy" (literally a direct quote) to come to brasil. But we were dying laughing.

- also had exchanges (for the first time ever in this mish) which were so fun! 3 days with 6 sisters = festassss

- Marli got baptized this week! She was so so excited for her baptism and it was so awesome watching her take that step! And she bore her testimony at the end which was so sweet!
- transfers happened this week! I will be staying in Lessa! But with a new comp, sister Vergara from Chile!

- Sister Elescano and I spoke in church yesterday! I decided to talk about president Nelson's October 2020 general conference talk on finding rest in our covenants. And as I was writing my talk about how we find rest from our worries, fears, and anxieties through the gospel of Christ, I realized how nervous, scared, and worried I was for the next transfer. Because I am hecka scared. And I found comfort in John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." I love the words 'good cheer'. There really is 'good cheer' in our Savior. I'm still a little scared for the next transfer (send the prayers this way), but am trying to focus on the strength, rest, and 'good cheer' I receive from the gospel of Christ!

life is good :)
love you all
