Jesus vem, e aí
Sydney week in quotes part 4 :)
- "oh glória": Us every time anything good happens
- "let's go to the beach beach, let's go hit a wave": Us on Christmas. First time ever celebrating Christmas in 98 degree weather watching the waves. Pretty epic if I do say so
- "Jesus vem, e aí?" (Jesus is coming, what are you doing?) Signs that we see hung up in the trees. This is literally the most crente country ever.
- "we're gonna eat popcorn and turn on the happy vibes": me after a hard day
- me: "EDI!!" I saw edi!! My first day in the mission field I stayed in this area and participated in the baptism of edi. And this week, after 6 months, I saw him again and he totally remembered me
- sister Martinez: "a americana mais bahiana que conheci" (the most bahian American I've ever met), I don't know exactly what that means, but I'll take it as a compliment
- Vinícius: "that's your last coffee right there". We had a lesson with Joseane and Vinícius. Joseane has been progressing a lot and was baptized on Sunday, but this particular lesson was one of the first lessons we had with her husband. We had planned to teach the word of wisdom to Joseane, but when we saw that Vinícius was there too, I was like "uhhhh maybe we shouldn't teach the WoW for his first lesson", ya know don't want to freak him out. But while we were talking before the lesson, I had a really strong impression that I should just roll with the WoW lesson. Following the spirit we did it, and not only did Vinícius like the lesson, but at the end he was literally helping us teach Joseane that she shouldn't drink coffee anymore. And then told us that they would no longer be buying coffee. Lesson learned: the spirit really does know best.
- "Deus é maravilhoso" (God is marvelous). The phrase Joseane kept repeating after she was baptized. Her baptism was one of the most special and spiritual baptisms I've been a part of. And really, God is so so good.
- "Bring them hither to me": Jesus (Matthew 14:18). A short scripture, but one of my favorites. It's what Jesus says right before he multiplies the bread and fish. Everyone was hungry, the apostles were worried and didn't know what to do, but Jesus just said "just give it to me". Just give it to Him and He can perform the miracles. Give Him our efforts, our devotion, our will. And He can turn it into so so much more because "Deus é maravilhoso".
life is good :)
love you all
