1% probability 99% faith
Officially done with training!! Transfer news: my comp and I are staying in Lessa, which I am so excited for!
Also I should probably apologize for how all over the place these emails are, but I'm gonna blame it on the Portuguese turning my brain to mush.
highlights!!
- I think our investigators had a little meeting this week and decided to all give us free food: ice cream, pastels, pizza, peanuts, cake. You already know that was a sign for a good week.
- JEAN SMILED. Jean is a man we've been teaching for a few weeks. And he's hard. He shows up to our lessons which is awesome, but he doesn't talk very much, and never smiles. But during a lesson this week, I saw him smile and even laugh a little. Needless to say, epic.
- We pushed our luck a little too far this week with the carro pequenos. They stop running at about 6:30. But Tuesday night, we had a lesson that lasted until 7, so we missed all the cars and buses. We were quite literally stuck. But luckily, after some puppy eyes and pretty please with a cherry on top, a bus driver agreed to drive us back to dias d'àvila. So we got to play dj with the church albums in the bus with just us and the driver.
- Multiple investigators remembered to end their prayer "in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen" during our lessons (it really is a struggle)
- Got my Brazilian ID - I'm finally legal
- Every Saturday night, we text out an invitation to church to basically everyone we have in our contacts. People usually don't respond or if they do, they still don't show up. Butttt this week a girl responded, said she would come, and then actually walked 30 minutes the next morning to get to church!
- This week started really good, then ended with everything falling through. Literally everything. So when our DL asked us about our week yesterday our response was 1% probability, 99% faith. It's all in God's hands.
- This week I was able to share with Jutaí ether 12:27. "And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they many be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them." I know that through Jesus Christ, our weak relationships, weak abilities, and weak human efforts in general can be made strong. I'm so grateful for Christ and His gospel in my life!
life is good :)
love you all
