maria, garcia, e vegas
Crazy and hard week (how they usually are)
Highlights:
- this week we tried to find a girl that the previous sisters were teaching. We knew where her house was, but we didn't know her name. So we clapped a little, and then as a joke decided to yell "Maria", because how can you go wrong with the name Maria? Long story short, her name was indeed maria.
- we went bowling for Zone pday last week! (My bowling skills have not improved in case you were wondering)
- something that sometimes I laugh about and sometimes I get frustrated about here in the Bahia is how many freaking churches there are here. Here are some of my favorites that I've passed by: quadrangular church, revolution of grace church, and my personal favorite, the church about knees. (I wish I were joking)
- transfers are today! I'll be staying in Lauro de Freitas with a new comp.... Sister Garcia! A cute little Guatemalan. (Also idk what God's trying to say, but ALL of my companions in the field have been shorter than me. Like how is that even possible?)
- I was told to go get my new comp on Friday, alone. 20 minute exchange with the Holy Ghost in an uber was incredible. Much needed.
- the people here are impressed with the fact that I can shuffle and deal uno cards fast, and then I tell them I live close to Vegas, and they go "aaaa makes sense now"
- spiritual thought time: I've been thinking a lot about Christ's invitation to be as little children this week. One day we had been facing a lot of rejection. Appointments falling, nobody letting us in, etc. And then at the end of the day we visited a few kid recent converts and their friends. And they were so happy to see us. They wanted to listen and play and had questions and it reminded me a lot of this principle. I think it's an invitation to be open, fun, joyful, and willing. So here's to embracing the kid in us and following Jesus.
life is good:)
love you all
