buddhists, baptisms, and bars in the bahia
Happy Easter!!
Had some of the strangest lessons of my life this week, but also some of the biggest miracles, so let's get into it
highlights!!
- in English class this week we taught them the weather, and then it turned into "max, how do you say drug traffickers?" And just got worse from there.
- irmão Mardel made us a Bahian lunch: muceca com camarão, caruru, rice, beans, farofa. The Bahians use this super strong orange oil in their food, so basically all Bahian food looks orange. But it was delicious.
- as we were walking to a lesson one night, we had to stop to call another investigator. The only place safe enough to pull out the phone happened to be the bar on the beach. So if you saw 2 Mormons walk into the bar the other night, woops.
- helped my favorite irmã put together 30 gifts with the BoM to give away to all of her neighbors!
- had a lesson with a former Buddhist (never thought I'd see that one in brasil)
- Our cute friends Valdilene, Iracema, and Armando were baptized on Sunday! Literal miracles that fell from heaven!
- WE FINALLY GOT TEMPLE PRESIDENTS!! We still have no idea when the temple here in Salvador is gonna open up, buttttt at least we're 1 step closer!
John 14:19
"Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also" I absolutely loved Easter here. Nothing was too exciting or special other than the fact that I got to be fully focused on Jesus Christ. Fully focused on his sacrifice and resurrection. Fully focused on the love he has for me. I know that He lives! And I know that because He lives, we will live again and can live life to it's fullest right now.
life is good :)
love you all
