1 Ano

12 months, 365 days, Countless laughs, cries, memories, moments, and experiences. 

To celebrate, here's 12 things that I've learned in the 12 hardest, most epic, and most fulfilling months of my life.

- beans are actually good when cooked by a bahian
- it's impossible to put on sunscreen while you are actively sweating
- pizza, açai, or yolito is the best way to celebrate anything and everything
- when you don't know what to do, just do it. There is no wrong way to do the right.
- God created us to have JOY! And because of Christ, we can feel joy despite our situations
- God always has a plan. Like always. And everything He does has a purpose.
- The holy ghost really does know best
- The book of Mormon is soooo good. For sure my favorite book.
- God loves all of our tiny little efforts and multiplies them into so much more. He can do with them what we can't.

- Faith in Jesus Cristo is soooo powerful. Our thoughts and actions have an effect way bigger than we can imagine.

- You can never sink lower than the light of the Savior's atonement shines. I've come to know and love my Savior walking the streets of Salvador like none other. His Atonement is a testament of His love for me and everyone I meet and I can feel that love everyday serving Him.

- Bahia has my heart forever and always and there is nowhere else in the world I would rather be

Welcome to Bahia

  highlights!!! - last p-day I was talking with an elder in my mission in our chapel who is from Brazil. We were just chatting when we hear gunshots outside. He then goes "welcome to Bahia". The members told me that when I see a person with a gun, i just say "arma bonita" (beautiful gun) and keep walking, so yep, here we go - one day when we were out tracking we were hungry so we got some açai from this cute little store. Lets just say we got the owner and his family's phone number so hopefully we can teach them and get free açai hehe - we take basically the same road everyday into the main neighborhood of our area. And one day on this road, we saw a cute little old lady out on her porch with some grandkids. We went up and started talking to her, and she was soooo sweet. She even gave us popsicles. We got her number and told her we would come back the next day. So we come back the next day, same thing, super sweet and free popsicles. We pass by again on our way ...

Job's Not Finished

Job's finished? Job's not finished.  We're working até o pozinho and got some serious miracles cooking for the next few weeks.  - Kaike! Pray for Kaike! - Ariane! Pray for Ariane!  - had my last zone conference and had to give my last testimony to the mission! Very bittersweet! - President took everyone who is finishing their mission this transfer to a Bahia soccer game, which included but was not limited to VIP tickets, unlimited free food, and watching president cheer silently for the opposing team. That's all I got for now, but as for a spiritual thought: I've been thinking a lot recently about one of the Savior's encounters with the Apostles after His resurrection. He found them fishing and asked Peter 3 times if he loved Him more than he loved the fish. John 21:17 "He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Smile and Wave

  HOLY CRAP SHE'S ACTUALLY IN SALVADOR This week has been craaazzzyyy, let me tell ya. I'm currently living in an apartment with 5 sisters, and we have 1 phone, so not too much time, but I'll tell you the good stuff - HIGHLIGHTSSSSS So the church really just decided to throw a curve ball and change it all up over here. 1) new preach my gospel - updated on our literal last day at the ctm, so we've got to learn it all again. 2) the day I arrived in my mission, I learned that it is no longer Salvador south, but now just Salvador. Ill send a pic of the new boundaries, but just know that it changed a lot, like a lot. Which means that the past 4 days have been crazy with missionaries getting reassigned and all. However, this means that the Salvador temple which should be done in about a year will be in my mission which is exciting!! My area!!! I'm currently serving in Parque da Cidade! Its an area right in the city on the coast and the chapel is right on the beach hehe. I...
