The Why
Imagine this: it's 5:50 pm. We have 10 minutes left of pday. We walk into our apartment with hands fully of groceries. We get on our phones to send some last minute messages and all of the sudden, I hear screams from sister Campos.
Campos: "We have a date! We have a date!"
Me: "o que?"
Campos: "O TEMPLO"
Me: "O QUE?!?!"
Campos: "babababa OCTOBER 20TH"
both of us: unstoppable screams and jumping
With 5 minutes left of pday I called the mom (obviously)
Me: "Mom we've got a date!" *starts crying uncontrollably* "October 20th. The temple is gonna be dedicated on October 20th"
Suddenly all of the hard days, rejections, and tears seemed worth it. Everything made sense. My "why" on the mission came back so strong. I am so excited to help people access the blessings of the temple and eternal families.
So that was the set up for nossa semana abençoada!! Highlights!
- made the 11 year old boys in the ward do contacts and invite people to church
- showed a picture of the Salvador temple to an inactive grandma and she immediately started to tear up.
- a neighboring ward sent a stalker pic of us walking to church with an investigator to motivate the members there (pic below)
- I waved at a random woman to come into the church and she actually came in and watched the whole thing
So so many miracles this week! I love being a missionary! And here's a lil scripture that I loved in my studies this week that helped me remember even more my "why"!
Mosiah 14:4-5
"Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed."
life is good :)
love you all
