OI OI OI My Loves!
Here are the important sister max updates!!
- I bought a soccer ball. My soccer ball got robbed.
- Also a lady robbed my picture of the Salvador temple.
- Our investigator threw her own birthday party after church the other Sunday in the church.
- Our 2 baptisms fell through 1 hour before the baptisms were supposed to happen and we were able to donate the baptism cake that was already in the church for the spontaneous birthday party.
- I've made it big on the church's brasil instagram page from a video I filmed a few weeks ago saying "What are you going to do this Sunday? Nothing?! Then come to church with us!" And now my bishop can't see me and not repeat those words in a high pitched American accent voice.
- We had a lesson in the cemetery with a worker while he was digging up a coffin. Definitely one of the stranger lessons I've been in.
- We've been without drinking water in our house for about 2 weeks and have developed a habit of carrying our empty coke bottles to the church everyday to get water. But one night we forgot. As we were walking on the street I told Sister Campos that I wanted water, and I kid you not, within 30 seconds it started raining. We found cover and I left my waterbottle in the rain to fill up.
- had FESTA JUNINA!!! I will be coming back next year to be able to dance
- a random woman that nobody knew walk into church yesterday!! #onlyinbrotas
Something I've been thinking a lot about lately is a scripture that President Nelson shared a few general conferences back. Hebrews 12:2 "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." To be able to bear the hardest thing in human history, Christ focused on the joy. The joy that His sacrifice would bring to the people. The joy His father would feel. All the joy. So may we always find the joy in Christ as He writes and finishes our faith.
life is good :)
love you all
