The count down begins

FOLKS WE ARE IN THE LAST COUNTDOWN! 1 MONTH FROM TODAY OUR TEMPLO OPENS UP!!!!!!! WE ARE FREAKING OUT OVER HERE!!

But until that day, here are the highlights:

- The chacos are now the equivalent of nearly headless nick. I know, I didn't think it was possible either. But proud to say that the tan line is so burned into my skin that it is a tattoo now.

- I talked to our investigator's dad who was speaking drunk portuñol and the gift of tongues was not working.

- we participated in our ward's festa julina, which sounds like a party, right? However our zone decided to do a fast right on that day. But we had a fun time stealing a bunch of food to save for the post-fast 90 minute walk to lunch.

- we had recent converts come to church yesterday!! (Why is that harder post-baptism than pre?)

John 16:33
"These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Although the storms and waves of life will always be there, we can have peace in Christ because He is in the boat with us. He overcame the world first. We have access to His peace as we simply stay in the boat. In the last few weeks I've felt the power of Christ's peace through the priesthood, covenants, prayer, my scriptures, and the many angels in my life. And I am forever grateful for it.

Welcome to Bahia

  highlights!!! - last p-day I was talking with an elder in my mission in our chapel who is from Brazil. We were just chatting when we hear gunshots outside. He then goes "welcome to Bahia". The members told me that when I see a person with a gun, i just say "arma bonita" (beautiful gun) and keep walking, so yep, here we go - one day when we were out tracking we were hungry so we got some açai from this cute little store. Lets just say we got the owner and his family's phone number so hopefully we can teach them and get free açai hehe - we take basically the same road everyday into the main neighborhood of our area. And one day on this road, we saw a cute little old lady out on her porch with some grandkids. We went up and started talking to her, and she was soooo sweet. She even gave us popsicles. We got her number and told her we would come back the next day. So we come back the next day, same thing, super sweet and free popsicles. We pass by again on our way ...

Job's Not Finished

Job's finished? Job's not finished.  We're working até o pozinho and got some serious miracles cooking for the next few weeks.  - Kaike! Pray for Kaike! - Ariane! Pray for Ariane!  - had my last zone conference and had to give my last testimony to the mission! Very bittersweet! - President took everyone who is finishing their mission this transfer to a Bahia soccer game, which included but was not limited to VIP tickets, unlimited free food, and watching president cheer silently for the opposing team. That's all I got for now, but as for a spiritual thought: I've been thinking a lot recently about one of the Savior's encounters with the Apostles after His resurrection. Smile and Wave

  HOLY CRAP SHE'S ACTUALLY IN SALVADOR This week has been craaazzzyyy, let me tell ya. I'm currently living in an apartment with 5 sisters, and we have 1 phone, so not too much time, but I'll tell you the good stuff - HIGHLIGHTSSSSS So the church really just decided to throw a curve ball and change it all up over here. 1) new preach my gospel - updated on our literal last day at the ctm, so we've got to learn it all again. 2) the day I arrived in my mission, I learned that it is no longer Salvador south, but now just Salvador. Ill send a pic of the new boundaries, but just know that it changed a lot, like a lot. Which means that the past 4 days have been crazy with missionaries getting reassigned and all. However, this means that the Salvador temple which should be done in about a year will be in my mission which is exciting!! My area!!! I'm currently serving in Parque da Cidade!
