Time for the Templo!!!!

This week was too good to not share the quotes. And definitely the most memorable part was that we got to work in the Salvador Temple VIP tours!!

highlights in the form of quotes:

- Sister Dintof: "he is famous and he is famous.." It's a good thing they put a gringa in the temple VIP tours because I have no idea who are the celebrities and who is security.

- Presidente and Sister Martins: "we haven't even been inside the temple yet, want to go with us?" I love my mission president and his wife. We are and will be forever the first missionaries to step foot inside the Salvador temple and man oh man is it beautiful!

- *Elder Soares going in the elevador* *Elder Soares turning around and leaving the elevador* Elder Soares: "SISTERS!" got to shake the big man's hand. And then we proceeded to have a 20 minute conversation with his wife full of fofoca and life tips.

- all the irmãs at the temple VIP open house: "eat more sister, eat more". You can never escape it. Even when the food was made for Elder Soares, they want you to eat it.

- Sister Dintof: "do you want to put on the jumpsuit?" Lara: "hold up let me finish this chapter". Lara got baptized last Saturday, but would only put on the jumpsuit when she had finished reading her daily dose of the Book of Mormon! 

- *us explaining about the temple and eternal families* media reference over the phone: "how I can be a member?"

The Lord has filled us with miracles and tender mercies that I have not stopped praying just to give thanks. But in all of the chaos, my sweet companion got the sad news that her grandpa died. Her family called while we were at the temple, and in that moment it all made sense. The temple, the work, God's timing. God is really watching out for us. I'm grateful for the knowledge of the Ressurection to know that this is not the end. I am so grateful for temples and eternal families. And most importantly, I'm grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ who made it all possible, and is with us every step of the way.

Welcome to Bahia

  highlights!!! - last p-day I was talking with an elder in my mission in our chapel who is from Brazil. We were just chatting when we hear gunshots outside. He then goes "welcome to Bahia". The members told me that when I see a person with a gun, i just say "arma bonita" (beautiful gun) and keep walking, so yep, here we go - one day when we were out tracking we were hungry so we got some açai from this cute little store. Lets just say we got the owner and his family's phone number so hopefully we can teach them and get free açai hehe - we take basically the same road everyday into the main neighborhood of our area. And one day on this road, we saw a cute little old lady out on her porch with some grandkids. We went up and started talking to her, and she was soooo sweet. She even gave us popsicles. Job's Not Finished

Job's finished? Job's not finished.  We're working até o pozinho and got some serious miracles cooking for the next few weeks.  - Kaike! Pray for Kaike! - Ariane! Pray for Ariane!  - had my last zone conference and had to give my last testimony to the mission! Very bittersweet! - President took everyone who is finishing their mission this transfer to a Bahia soccer game, which included but was not limited to VIP tickets, unlimited free food, and watching president cheer silently for the opposing team. That's all I got for now, but as for a spiritual thought: I've been thinking a lot recently about one of the Savior's encounters with the Apostles after His resurrection. Smile and Wave

  HOLY CRAP SHE'S ACTUALLY IN SALVADOR This week has been craaazzzyyy, let me tell ya. I'm currently living in an apartment with 5 sisters, and we have 1 phone, so not too much time, but I'll tell you the good stuff - HIGHLIGHTSSSSS So the church really just decided to throw a curve ball and change it all up over here. 1) new preach my gospel - updated on our literal last day at the ctm, so we've got to learn it all again. 2) the day I arrived in my mission, I learned that it is no longer Salvador south, but now just Salvador. Ill send a pic of the new boundaries, but just know that it changed a lot, like a lot. Which means that the past 4 days have been crazy with missionaries getting reassigned and all. However, this means that the Salvador temple which should be done in about a year will be in my mission which is exciting!! My area!!! I'm currently serving in Parque da Cidade! Its an area right in the city on the coast and the chapel is right on the beach hehe. I...
